BEST TIPS TO KNOW BEFORE PADDLE BOATING
- Wear a Life Jacket: Always wear a properly fitted life jacket or personal flotation device (PFD) when paddle boating, regardless of your swimming ability.
- Stay Hydrated and Sun-Protected: Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated during your paddle boating excursion, especially on hot days. Wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat to protect yourself from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
- Stay Balanced and Centered: Maintain a balanced and centered position in the paddle boat to avoid tipping or capsizing. Sit comfortably with your weight distributed evenly, and avoid making sudden movements that could destabilize the boat. If you feel unsteady, use your paddle or hands to stabilize yourself by touching the water’s surface.
